Solutions with Vuototecnica special products

Shipyards with the wind in their sails

Vuototecnica has specially designed the new DR 100 M 01/02 system for vacuum resin infusion moulding for the nautical sector.
Shipyards usually operate with ordinary vacuum pumps that suck onto the moulds without the interposition neither of a volume nor of a vacuum reducer to adjust and maintain the depression inside the suction circuit constant.

The result is a variety of permanently operating pumps with the risk of overheating and the need for constant maintenance. To solve these problems, Vuototecnica has developed this mobile system, which guarantees the best finishing in operations such as infusion or vacuum bagging, thereby ensuring maximum flexibility as required in shipyards.

The resin, which is contained in a special container, is vacuum-sucked by the Vuototecnica mobile system onto a mould until filling it.
Any excessive resin collected inside the sheet steel autoclave can be viewed through the transparent methacrylate cover, which can be manually removed for cleaning the inside of the autoclave once the process is completed.

vacuum bagging

The installed oil bath vacuum pumps (MV20A/MV40A) allow reaching a maximum vacuum level of 99.5% inside the autoclave therefore, the equipment can also be used as a degasifier. The standard vacuum reducer installed on the equipment allows adjusting the vacuum level between minimum 20% and maximum 99.9%.

The accurate adjustment of the vacuum level is extremely important in vacuum bagging applications, where the pre-impregnated carbon fibres are pressed in the mould by means of the depression generated inside the bag itself and of the atmospheric pressure that acts evenly on it.
To ensure simple handling in the shipyard, this new vacuum resin infusion system is equipped with a power control panel and is trailer-mounted with a handle onto a solid structure made of steel profiles.

Furthermore, Vuototecnica has developed and created a range of accessories specific for the resin and composite fibre sector, such as: vacuum bagging valves; suction valves for resin infusion moulds; vacuum regulators; vacuum valves and solenoid valves; specific suction filters; vacuum hoses and manifolds.

Marble or granite slabs to handle? No problem with Vuototecnica!

Vuototecnica has been a supplier for marble and granite manufacturing companies for several years. Needless to mention how delicate it is to work with products of this value, especially because moving them often means shifting relevant weight blocks. Vuototecnica, however, has a solution for everything.

In the first video, you can see an ABB robot moving marble slabs. Notice how the grip is stable and there is no leakage due to the use of maxigrip round flat suction cups.

These suction cups are able to adapt to flat, concave and convex surfaces without any risk of deforming or breaking the objects. But the most surprising thing is that the inner support plate of the suction cups ensures a high coefficient of friction with the gripping surface and an unrivaled grip thanks to the easy drainage of oil and water. This is a guarantee, among other things, of a very precise positioning of the load to be handled.

In this second video, you can see Vuototecnica’s ability to design solutions.

You can see in action another ABB robot that manipulates granite and marble slabs thanks to Octopus vacuum gripping system.

The movements are fluid and, even when there are jolts, the suction cups hold. Also note that we often work in contact with liquids and powders that could potentially slip the plates or clog the vacuum systems; yet there are no accidents. Everything is done with maximum safety and care for the materials. Only thanks to Vuototecnica.

Handling and inserting a robiola cheese pack into its plastic box

Today we introduce you a new application of Octopus, designed with 3D printed customized heads.

In the video below you can see in action a robot handling and inserting a package of robiola cheese into its box.

It would not be possible for Vuototecnica competitors, because the wrapping of the robiola cheese is realized in such a way as to make easier the operations of opening by the consumer and to preserve the taste of the product, but it does not facilitate certain automated stages of packaging in line.

The upper folded edges of the wrapping, in fact, if manipulated only with suction cups or with other types of gripping hands, would tend to open, with the great risk of losing the content during the translation and the deposit into the plastic container.

Vuototecnica 3D Printer

As you can see, thanks to Vuototecnica special gripping head realized with a 3D printer, shaped and designed in order to eliminate such an event, the robot is able to wrap Robiola without problems: the translatory motion is rapid and the deposit is accurate and there are no unintended loss of product.

Vacuum sealed packaging control: Vuototecnica offers two solutions

To test the sealing of bottles, jars, plastic or tin cans and, in general, for all hermetically sealed packaging, such as flow-pack, cellophane or PVC packages, Vuototecnica proposes ATP and ATS vacuum testing devices.

These devices are very simple to operate and allow you to detect even the smallest leaks of air from the packaging.

With ATP, the vacuum is generated in the transparent casing filled with water by a pneumatic multistage ejector. You can put the product inside the container, to locate the air release point. A pin pushes the package into the water.

In case of loss, air bubbles identify the weak point immediately. ATS device operation is intuitive, too.

As you can see in the video, you can put the product inside the plexiglas casing. By creating the vacuum inside the casing, the pressure differential that’s generated between the inside of the package and the volume of the depressurized casing causes the packaging to swell, thus exerting pressure upon the flow pack’s seals. A mini vacuum switch integrated within the ATS system let you to set the test’s vacuum level (based on the legal or regulatory requirements). The standard units are available in two models: the ATS 20, with a 21.5 litre casing and a VTS 10 M model pump, and the ATS 05, with a 5.5 litre casing and a VTS 4M model pump.

ATP and ATS test values are adjustable and can be automatically repeated so you don’t have to reset them every time. On request, Vuototecnica realizes special versions of both products to meet your need.

Vacuum seal test

To prevent unpleasant surprises when it comes to cellophane or PVC flow-pack food product packaging, test the welding seals using the ATP02 by Vuototecnica, a leader in vacuum technology. Nothing gets past this easy to use and totally pneumatic testing device, especially the air that escapes packages with a defective closure and weld seal.

Vacuum generation, using a multi-stage pneumatic ejector inside the transparent container, allows for identifying the exact point of even the smallest air leak from the package immersed in water. The defective weld is evidenced by the small bubbles leaking out from the welding.

The test values are adjustable and can be automatically repeated.
Upon request, Vuototecnica manufactures special versions to meet the specific needs of its customers.
